Operation Green Light Ceremony
November 4, 2026
Yesterday afternoon, we flipped the switch on a visible message to our veterans: Riverside County is grateful for your service, and you have a community standing behind you.
Supervisor Spiegel was honored to join my Board colleagues for our Operation Green Light Ceremony. By illuminating County buildings in green through November 12, we recognize our veterans’ service and sacrifices and raise awareness of the benefits, services, and support available to them and their families.
Thank you to our County Executive Officer, Jeff Van Wagenen, for serving as our emcee; the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps Paul Revere Division for presenting the colors; Tiffany Gordon, Eastvale’s Community Services & Recreation Supervisor, for performing our National Anthem; Department of Veterans Services Director Adam French for his leadership and participation; and American Legion District 21 Commander Albert “Al” Mendoza for sharing his perspective and dedication to fellow veterans.
A special thank you to the Department of Veterans Services, Department of Facilities Management, and Riverside County TV (RivCoTV) for helping bring this ceremony to life and share its message with our community. Thank you also to everyone who joined us as we honored our veterans and paused to remember prisoners of war and those missing in action.
As we approach Veterans Day during America’s 250th anniversary year, we reaffirm our responsibility to support those who have defended our nation. To our veterans and your families: you are seen, valued, and supported, today and throughout the year.
