Revitalized Corona Del Rey Highlights Regional Commitment to Affordable Housing
June 23, 2025
The grand reopening of Corona Del Rey marked a significant step forward in the City of Corona’s efforts to expand and enhance affordable housing. Representatives from the Second District joined local leaders and partners to celebrate the completed rehabilitation of this 158-unit community.
The project was made possible through a $5 million investment of County ARPA funds, which helped secure an additional $7.9 million in State allocations passed through the City of Corona. These strategic investments supported essential renovations and upgrades that improved the quality of life for residents.
Led by National CORE in collaboration with the HOPE through Housing Foundation, the revitalized complex now offers amenities such as a community center, playgrounds, laundry facilities, covered parking, and secured, gated entry. Additionally, the Housing Authority of the County of Riverside placed eight Section 8 Project-Based Vouchers at the site, supporting low-income households earning at or below 50% of the Area Median Income.
Corona Del Rey stands as a successful public-private partnership model, demonstrating how coordinated action across all levels of government can create a lasting impact on local families.
