Supervisor Spiegel Recognizes 2025 Second District Volunteer and Nonprofit of the Year Honorees

April 16, 2025

At an April 2025 Board of Supervisors meeting, each Supervisorial District proudly recognized outstanding individuals and organizations whose service has impacted their communities. Representing the Second District, Supervisor Spiegel honored the Volunteer of the Year and Nonprofit Organization of the Year for their exceptional dedication to public service.

Joshua Pope was named the Second District’s 2025 Volunteer of the Year. Joshua has dedicated his time and energy to the City of Lake Elsinore’s Community Services Department and Care Rite Vocational Services over the past four years. Known for his attention to detail, uplifting attitude, and consistent commitment to maintaining clean and welcoming public spaces, Joshua has become a beloved and inspiring figure in his community.

This year’s Nonprofit Organization of the Year for the Second District is Bicycles for Children, founded by John White in 2013. Since its inception, the organization has provided over 10,000 bicycles to children across Riverside County. Its mission goes beyond simply donating bikes—it promotes healthy living, builds community connections, and brings joy to children and families throughout the region.
