Proudly Recognizing July as Parks and Recreation Month in Riverside! County
June 23, 2026
Today, Supervisor Spiegel and her colleges proudly recognized July as Parks and Recreation Month in Riverside County. We presented a proclamation alongside the Riverside County Department of Parks and Recreation and the Department of Economic Development and Facilities Management.
Parks and recreation programs play an important role in enhancing the quality of life for residents of all ages. From providing spaces for recreation and wellness to preserving natural resources, supporting community events, and creating opportunities for families to connect, these services help strengthen the communities we call home.
Supervisor Spiegel wants to thank the dedicated staff, park rangers, maintenance crews, recreation leaders, and volunteers who work year-round to ensure our parks remain safe, welcoming, and accessible for everyone. Their efforts help create vibrant spaces where residents can gather, stay active, and build lasting memories.
As we prepare to celebrate Parks and Recreation Month this July, I encourage residents to get outside, explore our local parks, participate in community programs, and take advantage of the incredible recreational opportunities available throughout Riverside County.
