Military Appreciation Month

May 12, 2026

As Chair of the Board of Supervisors, Spiegel was honored to join my colleagues in officially recognizing May as Military Appreciation Month during today’s meeting. Together, we presented a Proclamation of Recognition to the Department of Veterans Services and recognized veteran representatives from each supervisorial district, who were hand-selected by the Department for their service and continued impact within our communities.
Military Appreciation Month is a time to reflect on the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform. We honor those currently serving on Active Duty, those who have served before them, our POW/MIA service members whose sacrifices will never be forgotten, and the heroes who are no longer with us but whose legacy continues to live on through the freedoms we enjoy every day.
To all who have served and continue to serve: thank you. Your sacrifice and commitment to this country will never be taken for granted.
