National Crime Victims’ Rights Week Candlelight Vigil
Last night, we gathered at the Riverside Historic Courthouse for the National Crime Victims’ Rights Week Candlelight Vigil, a time to honor and remember those whose lives have been impacted by crime.
Supervisor Spiegel was honored to serve as a reader during the vigil, sharing the names of victims and pausing to reflect on each life and the families they leave behind. Each name is a reminder of why this work matters and why we must continue to stand with victims and their loved ones.
This year’s theme, “Carrying Shadow, Choosing Light,” speaks to the reality that grief and strength often coexist. While loss does not fade, hope continues to emerge through community, support, and remembrance.
We stand together in remembrance, in support, and in our shared commitment to justice and healing.
