El Cariso Fire Station 51 Reopens Following Major Remodel in Lake Elsinore

January 15, 2026

Riverside County officials joined the Riverside County Fire Department for a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the reopening of El Cariso Fire Station 51 in Lake Elsinore following the completion of a significant remodel. The station is now fully operational and better equipped to support firefighters serving the Ortega Highway corridor and surrounding mountain and rural communities.

The Ortega Highway is a critical route for residents, commuters, and visitors and presents unique public safety challenges, including wildfire risk, traffic collisions, and medical emergencies. Fire Station 51 plays a key role in emergency response in this high-risk, remote area.

The remodel represents an essential investment in public safety infrastructure and firefighter working conditions. The upgraded facility provides modern, functional space to ensure crews have the resources needed to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
