Board of Supervisors Honors Key Contributors Across Riverside County

From supporting families to celebrating trailblazing women and embracing age-friendly innovation, Riverside County’s Board of Supervisors spotlighted the people and programs shaping a stronger, more inclusive community during its July 29 meeting.
A Proclamation for Child Support Awareness Month was presented to the Riverside County Department of Child Support Services, recognizing the department’s steadfast commitment to helping children and families thrive through financial and emotional support services.
The Office on Aging celebrated a significant milestone as Riverside County was officially welcomed into the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities. This designation reflects ongoing efforts to build accessible, inclusive environments that empower older adults to remain active and engaged.
The Board also proclaimed August 12, 2025, as Jane Block Day, honoring the enduring impact of Jane Block’s advocacy for women and families. A founding force behind NORA (formerly the Riverside Area Rape Crisis Center), her leadership has left a powerful legacy of service and protection for vulnerable populations.
