On January 12, Supervisor Spiegel attended the Dedication Ceremony Commemorating The Multi-Species Reserve at Lake Mathews in Honor of Lois B. Krieger and The Donald Galleano Overlook at Lake Mathews.

Lois B. Krieger served as the first chairwoman of the board of directors of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California from 1989 to 1992.

Donald Galleano represented the Western Municipal Water District of southwest Riverside County on the board of directors of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California from 2015 until his passing in 2021.
