The Second District Team Tours the Riverside County Animal Shelter

May 4, 2023

The Second District Team embarked on a Riverside County Animal Shelter tour earlier this month. The experience was not only educational but also incredibly inspiring, providing firsthand insight into the remarkable work being done within our local animal services.

The shelter, a haven for countless furry friends, offered an eye-opening look at the extraordinary efforts put forth to care for and find loving homes for these endearing creatures.

A huge thank you to the Director of Riverside County Animal Services, Erin Gettis, Assistant Director Kim Youngberg, and Public Information Officer Kerri Mabee for the invaluable education and tour. They walked us through the ins and outs of the shelter, shedding light on the many operations and initiatives that make it possible to provide such comprehensive care for these animals.

With this experience fresh in mind, we encourage everyone to consider adopting or fostering from their local animal shelter. Not only will you be giving a sweet pet the loving home they deserve, but you'll also be making a profound difference in their lives. Remember, every animal deserves a chance to have a family that loves them.

We'd also like to highlight the upcoming mobile clinics hosted by the shelter. These clinics provide essential services and education to the community, helping to ensure that all pets, regardless of their circumstances, receive the care they need.
