Riverside County Library System to reopen Eastvale library with temporary increased hours of operation

The Riverside County Library System (RCLS) and the City of Eastvale are pleased to announce the Eastvale Library branch reopened to the public this week. In addition, the Eastvale Library will offer increased hours of operation with modified services amid new COVID-19 health regulations with physical distancing measures. During the modified service, patrons will have limited access to the interiors of the library for one hour.  Library services are currently limited to the borrowing and returning of materials and accessing public computers.

“The reopening of the Eastvale Library is great news for the City of Eastvale and surrounding communities that utilize this popular library branch location,” said Board Chair Karen Spiegel, Second District supervisor.  “We greatly appreciate the partnership with the City of Eastvale and Corona-Norco Unified School District in making the reopening of this joint-use facility a priority for our citizens. The value and importance of positive, constructive outlets and resources for our citizens has never been more important.”

City of Eastvale Mayor Jocelyn Yow said, “We are thrilled that the Eastvale Library is now re-opening to serve our community in Eastvale. Libraries provide more than just books and computers, they provide a safe environment for adults and children to think, create, share, and grow. The City of Eastvale appreciates the partnership with the Riverside County Library System and Corona-Norco Unified School District in making this reopening happen.”

The Riverside County Library System has implemented health and safety precautions including requiring masks to be worn by staff and patrons, adding wall-mounted hand sanitizer stations, installing sneeze guards at all transaction counters, applying floor decals to encourage physical distancing, reducing the amount of available public computers to safely and properly distance patrons, and removing all common area lounge furniture.

“The staff at the Eastvale Library are excited to see patrons again” said Barbara Howison, county librarian. “All are welcome to come and browse materials or use the public computers, of course, while wearing a mask and social distancing. Others may want to try out our Express Curbside Service.  We are unboxing many new books and DVDs, so please come and enjoy visiting or call to ask for items to be picked up!”

Based on the number of computers available and space needed for browsing the bookshelves, each location has determined the maximum capacity allowed inside each branch. County libraries will resume normal business hours and will continue to offer digital and curbside service during this time. Additional services and resources will resume as soon as libraries are able to do so in a safe manner.

The Eastvale Library is located at 7447 Scholar Way.  Hours of operation are Monday-Thursday, 12 p.m. – 8 p.m., and Friday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.  RCLS is asking all patrons, volunteers, and employees to wear face coverings and continue to follow health and safety standards when entering the facilities. RCLS is a division of Riverside County Business & Community Services.  The Eastvale Library is a joint-use facility in partnership with Riverside County, the City of Eastvale and the Corona-Norco Unified School District.  For more information, please contact the Riverside County Library System at (951) 369-3003 or visit www.rivlib.net.
