Riverside County Honors Emergency Management Director Bruce Barton on Retirement

Bruce Barton, Director of the Riverside County Emergency Management Department (EMD), was formally recognized by the Board of Supervisors in honor of his retirement and decades of distinguished public service.

Barton played a pivotal role in strengthening the county’s emergency preparedness and response systems, most notably leading the department to achieve national EMAP accreditation in 2023. Under his leadership, EMD advanced Riverside County’s ability to respond to crises with resilience and coordination.
