Riverside County Announces 2024 Foundation General Plan Amendment Cycle
February 6, 2024
The Riverside County Board has officially approved the 2024 Foundation General Plan Amendment (FGPA) cycle, opening the floor for applications. From Monday, February 5, 2024, until Friday, April 5, 2024, the County will accept submissions for the FGPA, offering a two-month window for interested parties to participate in the planning process.
In preparation for this cycle, the County calls upon each district to nominate a representative for the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC). Ideal candidates are those with experience in fields related to land use, such as construction, real estate, landscaping, or civil engineering. Nominees must reside in the Unincorporated areas of Riverside County, excluding those living within city limits. The aim is to establish the GPAC by the end of February to begin deliberations on the applications. Meetings for the GPAC will be conducted in-person and online to accommodate members facing travel constraints. The level of commitment required from GPAC members will depend on the volume of FGPA applications received. For context, the 2016 cycle saw a total of 32 FGPA applications.
