District 2 staff attended the City of Canyon Lake – Government City Council meeting, where the community came together to recognize student achievement, youth programs, and local leadership. The office was proud to be present for the Student of the Month recognition and the Canyon Lake Junior Golf Awards Ceremony, both of which highlight the importance of encouraging young people and celebrating their accomplishments.

The meeting also included a Non-Profit Spotlight featuring Jesse Lagom and Art Not Drugs, a program that helps steer kids away from graffiti by teaching real art skills through a free six-week program designed to guide youth in a positive direction. It was encouraging to see this kind of proactive, community-based support for at-risk youth.

The office also joined the city in recognizing Mayor Terry for his service and in welcoming the City of Canyon Lake’s new leadership. Congratulations to Mayor Jeremy Smith and Mayor Pro Tem Kasey Castillo as you step into these roles for 2026. District 2 looks forward to continued partnership and collaboration in the year ahead.
