On Tuesday, August 26, Supervisor Spiegel spoke at the 4th Annual Fallen 13 Candlelight Vigil hosted by the Southern California Patriot Guard Riders in Norco. At the Fallen 13 Memorial Flower Garden, the community came together to remember the courage and sacrifice of the brave service members who gave their lives in Kabul four years ago.

The District Two team holds in their hearts the memory of local heroes: Cpl. Hunter Lopez of the Coachella Valley, Dylan Merola of Rancho Cucamonga, and Norco’s own Lance Cpl. Kareem Nikoui. Their names and stories will never be forgotten, and we stand with the families who continue to carry their legacy with strength and love.

Thank you to the Southern California Patriot Guard Riders for hosting this moving vigil and to everyone who came together in remembrance. May we never take for granted the freedoms secured through their ultimate sacrifice.
